Pop star JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE was named Best International Male Solo Artist at the Brit Awards on Wednesday night (14FEB07) and used his acceptance speech to jokingly warn the audience about the perils of drinking.

The 26-year-old pop star took time out of his US tour to accept his pize via a video link.

He said, "Thank you very much for this. I'm very flattered. I'm actually on tour so I couldn't be there. Everyone have a great night.

"Stop drinking! You know who you are. I'm speaking to you! You are going to get sloppy!" The MY LOVE singer then joked about a British tabloid adding, "OK! magazine is going to say something bad about you."

Timberlake wasn't able to pick up his engraved statuette in person and had to pretend he had the actual award with him during his speech saying, "I accept this mock award right now.
