Nicole Richie's recent collapses on the set of 'The Simple Life' are the result of low blood sugar levels.

The 25-year-old star was hospitalised for dehydration earlier this month and allegedly collapsed again on the set of her reality show last week.

Nicole is now said to have been diagnosed with hypoglycaemia.

A representative for the star said: "In her ongoing effort to focus on her well-being, Nicole has recently discovered she has hypoglycaemia.

"She is taking steps to manage it. Nicole has reported to work each day and the results have been fantastic."

A 'Simple Life' source said: "Four or five times she's felt really faint and almost passed out. She has to go into her trailer for a good part of the day."

Nicole, the adopted daughter of singer Lionel Richie, announced in October she was seeking treatment for an "inability to gain weight".

She is currently facing charges of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) after she was stopped by police in December for driving the wrong way on a California Highway. She admitted to police she had smoked marijuana and taken the strong painkiller Vicodin.

For the latest series of 'The Simple Life' she and close friend Paris Hilton, 26, are acting as camp counsellors.

Lindsay Lohan has bought two puppies to help her stay sober.

The 'Mean Girls' star - who recently completed a stint in rehab for alcoholism - hopes her new pets will make her stay at home and curb her wild partying lifestyle.

Lindsay says : "I've bought two puppies. One is a Jack Russell terrier I've named Brooklyn. He's white and black like Chanel. And I've got a Yorkie named Dakota, like my movie name and my little bro.

"Sober impulse buying of companions will help me stay home."

Meanwhile, the 20-year-old star is said to be eagerly awaiting the return of the new man in her life - Jude Law.

The pair have been seen together on several occasions and while the actor is away promoting his latest film in Japan, Lindsay is said to be pining for him.

A source said: "She just keeps talking about how psyched she is to see him when he gets back."

The socialite singer and Niarchos have been an item for many years but they started getting serious about their relationship last year (06).

Niarchos joined his girlfriend for her birthday party in Las Vegas last month (Feb07) and Hilton left no doubt she was dating the Greek-born stud.

But now friends are telling America's Life & Style magazine the romance is over because 26-year-old Hilton thinks her 21-year-old toyboy is "too insecure and immature".

The couple reportedly broke up for good at the weekend (19Mar07).

The split came two nights after Hilton was spotted kissing Desperate Housewives star Josh Henderson at a house party she threw in Hollywood.

A loose-lipped guest tells the publication, "They kissed on the sofa like teenagers. They were so cute, and the chemistry between them was electric."

Berry Chased 'shy' Aubry.... Oscar winner Halle Berry had her work cut out when she first met her boyfriend Gabriel Aubry - because the model was so shy he hardly spoke to her.

The 40-year-old actress met Aubry in November 2005, and found his low-key approach to romance intriguing.

She says, "I didn't want to be in a relationship, it's just that I thought it would be okay to be on my own.

"But he was disarmingly sweet and caring and different. In the past I've been attracted to big personalities. Gabriel was shy. He hardly talked to me at first.

"I had to work at this a little. It wasn't a slam dunk; it wasn't the guy just showering affection on me. It made it more interesting.

"We were equally matched - put it that way."

Meanwhile in other news the twice-divorced actress insists she will never marry her boyfriend Gabriel Aubry - or anyone else.

The Monster'S Ball star is adamant no man will ever take her down the aisle again, following her failed marriages to baseball star David Justice and singer Eric Benet.

The 40-year-old tells the US edition of In Style magazine, "I will never, never get married again.

"Actually it's just that now I've come to a place where I think two people can share their lives without the ring, without the piece of paper."

Berry has been dating model Aubry, 31, since November 2005.

Britney Spears was caught romping in the bushes of her rehab centre with a mystery man.

The troubled singer played a game of tennis with the unnamed man, who is also receiving treatment at Malibu's Promises clinic, before they disappeared together.

The pair were later found frolicking in the folliage of the grounds and had to be separated by security staff.

A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Britney and her new male friend decided to play a game of tennis. Britney is allowed a little more freedom now she's been in the centre a while.

"The next thing they had sneaked off into the bushes and were getting pretty passionate. They weren't actually having sex but there was definitely some groping. We had to step in to separate them.

"They were told off. They're in rehab and relationships between vulnerable people aren't really encouraged."

This is the second time Britney, 25, has been romantically linked with someone she has met at rehab.

Last week, it was reported that Britney was growing "very close" with rock guitarist Jason Filyaw, who she met at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

The 33-year-old rocker claimed he and the shaven-haired singer had "found love" since meeting again in rehab. The pair had met once before in 2003 when they recorded some music together.

Britney checked into the centre last month and is believed to be being treated for alcoholism.

The couple - who are moving Stateside this summer after soccer star David signed a deal reputedly worth £128 million with the Los Angeles Galaxy - were convinced they had found the perfect property, until they discovered it was on the market for a staggering £20 million.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "They are careful with investments. When you think what David's deal was to move to Los Angeles Galaxy you would think this was a drop in the ocean for them. But they don't want to spend that much on a Hollywood house at the moment."

The couple - who celebrated their 10th anniversary last week - believed the exclusive Beverly Hills property would have been a perfect family home.

The Liongate residence boasted acres of land, tennis courts, an outdoor swimming pool, movie room and a separate guesthouse.

Victoria, 32, reportedly put in an offer for actress Meg Ryan's former Bel Air house earlier this month.

The sprawling £10 million property has seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, a games room, private gym, sauna and swimming pool.

The former Spice Girl - who has three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, with David - was said to be "smitten" with the huge garden, which would give her family a great outdoor space.

Victoria recently admitted she was finding it hard to spend so much time away from David house hunting in Los Angeles while he sees out his contract with Spanish soccer club Real Madrid.

She said: "I would love to wake up with David every morning and have dinner with him every night. The hardest part of my life is when I'm away from David. Everything else I can cope with."
